Job Details: Job Location: FL - Lake Wales, FL, Salary Range: $17.43 - $22.26Hourly, GENERAL PURPOSE
Performs a variety of routine clerical, administrative and technical work in support of daily Planning, Building, and Code Compliance functions, including phone reception, greeting in-person customers, and taking messages.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED
Works under the general supervision of the Growth Management Director.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED
None.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assists the Planning Division by managing purchase orders, invoices, and preparing monthly reports. Answers basic zoning inquiries and assists customers with navigating information located on the City’s website, as it pertains to Growth Management.
Assists the Building Division in processing Business Tax Receipts (BTRs), processing BTR payments and building permit payments, and posting all permit documents to the permit tracking software.
Assists the Code Compliance Division by creating case files, managing lien recordings, and responding to lien search inquiries.
Assists the Planning, Building, and Code Compliance Divisions by helping to maintain office tidiness; answering, screening, and directing calls; and performing miscellaneous clerical duties as assigned by the Growth Management Director.
Maintains records and documents of customer service issues and resolutions.

Qualifications: DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
(A) Graduation from a standard senior high school or GED equivalent, and
(B) Two (2) years of experience in general office procedures, or a related fields, or
(C) Any equivalent combination of education and experience.
Necessary knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
(A) Knowledge of manual and computerized record keeping systems;
(B) Skilled in the operation tools and equipment.
(C) Ability to establish effective working relationships with contractors, developers, architects, engineers, owners, and the general public; Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing; Ability to work under stressful conditions and with frequent interruptions.

Personal computer, including word processing and permitting software; copy and fax machine; phone.
