What You'll Do
As an Occupational Therapist, you will provide skilled occupational therapy services to patients who have difficulty performing daily activities due to illness, injury, disability, or other medical conditions—all in the comfort of their own homes.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Provide occupational therapy services according to the patient's plan of care.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, CNAs, PTs, SLPs/STs, and other members of the healthcare team to provide exceptional patient care.
- Assist physicians and the care team in evaluating patient function, deficits, fall risks, and adaptive equipment needs.
- Assess patients, establish individualized therapy goals, document progress, and modify treatment plans as appropriate.
- Provide therapeutic exercises and activities designed to improve fine motor skills, coordination, strength, mobility, and independence.
- Educate patients and families regarding therapy goals, exercises, safety, adaptive techniques, and self-care.
- Promote patient independence and safety in the home environment.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
A Few Must-Haves
- Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program.
- Active Florida Occupational Therapist (OT) license.
- Minimum of 2 years of occupational therapy experience in a medical setting preferred.
- CPR certification.
- AHCA Level 2 background screening.
- Knowledge of applicable state and federal healthcare laws and regulations.
- Strong clinical judgment and communication skills.
- Compassionate, resourceful, and patient-focused approach.
- Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating with the care team.
