The OB/GYN Physician at the Center for Family and Child Enrichment (CFCE) provides comprehensive obstetrical and gynecological care to patients, supporting the organization’s commitment to accessible, high-quality women’s health and reproductive healthcare services. The OB/GYN Physician evaluates, diagnoses, and treats obstetrical and gynecological conditions while providing preventive care, patient education, counseling, and appropriate referrals.

Responsibilities include providing prenatal, postnatal, preventive, and gynecological care; performing diagnostic examinations and procedures; developing treatment plans; providing family planning services; and coordinating referrals and consultations. The OB/GYN Physician collaborates with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to promote continuity of care and supports the needs of diverse and medically underserved populations while maintaining compliance with applicable medical, regulatory, and organizational standards.

Some of the Functions Include:

• Take, evaluate, and document comprehensive medical histories and perform obstetrical and gynecological examinations.
• Provide routine and complex prenatal, postnatal, and gynecological care.
• Order and interpret laboratory studies, diagnostic imaging, ultrasounds, and other appropriate examinations.
• Perform Pap smears, colposcopies, endometrial biopsies, and other procedures within the scope of practice.
• Diagnose and treat obstetrical and gynecological conditions and develop individualized treatment plans.
• Manage routine and complicated prenatal conditions and selected chronic gynecological illnesses.
• Prescribe medications in accordance with the health center’s formulary and applicable regulations.
• Provide family planning and contraceptive counseling and services.
• Counsel patients regarding diagnoses, treatment, medications, pregnancy, childbirth, nutrition, preventive care, and health maintenance.
• Provide referrals and consultations with specialists and other healthcare professionals as clinically appropriate.
• Provide patient and community education on pregnancy, childbirth, family planning, cancer prevention, and other health topics.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
• Protect patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and organizational policies.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to promote continuity and coordination of care.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education

• Medical Degree from an accredited medical school and completion of an accredited OB/GYN residency program.
• Board certification or eligibility in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
• Valid Florida medical license and current DEA license.
• Admitting privileges at local hospitals.
• Five years of experience beyond residency preferred.
• Experience in community health or with medically underserved populations preferred.
• Valid Driver’s License, current auto insurance, and access to a reliable vehicle

Skills Needed

• Strong knowledge of obstetrical and gynecological care, reproductive health, and preventive medicine.
• Strong clinical judgment and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong verbal, written, interpersonal, and patient communication skills.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work effectively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
• Ability to work with diverse and medically underserved populations with cultural sensitivity.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and applicable regulations.
• Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records and standard computer applications, including Microsoft Office.
