Nursing Services Coordinator / Health and Rehab Center

Job Details: Job Location: Wesley Commons - Greenwood, SC, Salary Range: $19.00 - $25.00Hourly, Position Summary:  The Nursing Services Coordinator is responsible for ensuring staffing levels are maintained per DHEC requirements for skilled nursing (SNF).  This position is responsible for central supply, including ordering of resident and medical supplies in SNF and billing.  The position is responsible for the COVID-19 testing for resident and staff per DHEC/CMS guidelines.

Essential Functions:

Perform clerical functions using established procedures, policies, guidelines and standards in accordance with the requirements of regulatory agencies and in response to individual resident need.
Maintain a professional, neat/clean appearance and greet all visitors and residents with a smile.
Responsible for completing the daily staffing census sheets and providing these to the Floor Secretaries no later than 4pm for the next day’s posting.  Staffing sheets for the new month should be completed by the beginning of the week ending the current month.
Responsible for auditing and correcting the Resident/Nurse/CNA hour/census postings per DHEC requirements.
Responsible for ensuring RN coverage for PBJ and notifying the VP of Operations and DON for any days without an RN onsite. 
Complete the schedule for all CNAs and Nurses of the HRC, including processing and scheduling vacation and other time off requests and posting the schedules on the appropriate units.  Responsible for informing the DON of the time off requests. Responsible for completing the monthly on-call schedule and notifying PRN staff.
Take all call-ins and find replacements for CNAs and Nurses of the HRC during normal working hours Monday – Friday.
Responsible for accurately completing the payroll timesheet approval for all HRC Nurses and CNAs no later than 10am on payroll Monday.  Periodic monitoring of timesheets is required each pay period to ensure staff are taking lunch breaks and vacation and holidays are entered.
Responsible for entering comments for all nurse and CNA call outs, per the on-call reports emailed out by the managers.
Responsible for ensuring resident charge sheets are on the floor and log charges weekly for billing to individual accounts. 
Responsible for running monthly statements for billing purposes, tracking missing charges and coding invoices to the appropriate units for Accounts Payable.
Responsible for maintaining the charge sheets for at least one year.
Responsible for stocking storage areas, med rooms, nutrition kitchens and oxygen supply rooms weekly to ensure all are neat, clean and organized.  Ensure proper amount of tube feeding supplies are on hand.  All medical and resident supply items must be checked for expiration.
Responsible for ordering all medical and resident supplies for the HRC by unit and continuously maintaining a par level in each area.
Responsible for checking the medication rooms on each unit twice per month for expired supplies including medical and lab supplies.
Serve as back-up for courier services, such as to the hospital, labs, etc. as scheduled or requested.
Serve as back up to the Admission Coordinator for referral management and admission paperwork.
Responsible for working closely with the CNA that stocks resident rooms with briefs, wipes and gloves to ensure rooms are adequately stocked and charges are adequately accounted for.
Responsible for quarterly inventory. Supply inventory is due by the 4th business day proceeding the end of the quarter.
Responsible for Resident and Staff COVID-19 testing per CMS/DHEC requirements.
Adhere to all HIPPA guidelines and regulations

Non-Essential Functions:

Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of all policies and procedures related to submission and payments and ability to reference them from appropriate books and materials.
Assist patients with emergency preparedness drills such as tornado/fire drills.

Handles special projects and assignments as requested

 
Qualifications: Qualifications:

Associates Degree in business or related field or equivalent experience required.
Previous scheduling experience is preferred.
One to two years’ experience in long-term care and knowledge of federal and state long-term care regulations is preferred.
Current CPR certification.
Cognitive skills as related to the position.
