As a PRN Family Nurse Practitioner supporting PPL Corporation and its affiliate, Rhode Island Energy, you will serve as a key occupational health resource for employees through the Healthy for Life Clinic in Providence. Your primary responsibilities will include DOT physicals, workplace injury evaluation and management, return-to-work and fitness-for-duty assessments, and other regulatory medical examinations. You will also provide complementary primary care services, allowing you to support employees across the full continuum of workplace health, preventive care, acute needs, and chronic condition management.

Compensation

$77.00 - $80.00 per hour

Compensation is based on experience, certifications, and overall qualifications.

We are seeking an experienced Family Nurse Practitioner with a strong occupational medicine background to join our Providence team in a PRN capacity.

You will help protect employee health and support a safe, productive workforce by conducting regulatory examinations, evaluating and managing work-related injuries, establishing appropriate work restrictions, and completing return-to-work assessments. You will collaborate with clinic leadership, physicians, medical assistants, and other stakeholders to support appropriate care coordination, documentation, and follow-up.

In addition to occupational medicine, you will provide preventive, acute, and chronic primary care services to employees and eligible family members. This integrated model allows you to address both workplace health needs and the broader conditions that can affect an employee’s health and well-being.

Health Center Hours:
Monday–Friday | 7:00 AM–3:30 PM

Occupational Medicine

• Perform DOT physicals and other regulatory medical examinations

• Evaluate and manage workplace injuries and illnesses

• Complete return-to-work, fitness-for-duty, and work-status assessments

• Establish appropriate restrictions, treatment plans, and follow-up care

• Maintain timely, accurate, and confidential occupational health documentation

Primary Care

• Provide in-person and virtual preventive, acute, and chronic care

• Diagnose conditions, prescribe medications, and manage diagnostic testing

• Develop personalized care plans and promote healthy lifestyle choices

• Collaborate with the care team to ensure coordinated, high-quality care

What You'll Bring

• Active and unrestricted Rhode Island FNP license

• Current FNP board certification

• Active DEA registration

• Current NRCME certification required

• Occupational health experience required, including DOT physicals, workplace injury management, and return-to-work evaluations

• 2+ years of primary care experience preferred

• Experience treating patients ages 2+

• Strong understanding of HIPAA, confidentiality, and occupational health documentation

• Ability to meet CareATC and client credentialing requirements
