Neurofeedback Technician — Independent Contractor

Position Summary

Med-Care Providers is seeking an experienced Neurofeedback Technician to provide mobile neurofeedback services in patients’ homes as an independent contractor. The technician will operate approved equipment, follow written protocols authorized by the supervising clinician, document each session accurately, and escalate clinical or safety concerns promptly. This role does not authorize independent diagnosis, prescribing, treatment-plan changes, or any representation that can bind Med-Care Providers.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, clean, maintain, and troubleshoot BrainMaster neurofeedback equipment and required accessories.
• Deliver sessions only under documented protocols and within the technician’s training, credentials, and authorized scope.
• Verify patient identity, explain the session process, and protect patient dignity and privacy.
• Monitor sessions, document objective observations and completion details, and promptly report adverse events, equipment issues, protocol deviations, or changes in patient condition.
• Maintain complete, timely, and accurate records in approved systems; never store patient information on personal devices or accounts.
• Comply with HIPAA, privacy and security requirements, infection-control procedures, safety standards, company policies, and applicable law.
• Travel reliably to scheduled patient locations and safeguard all equipment and information in transit.

Required Qualifications

• Documented experience operating BrainMaster systems, such as Discovery or Atlantis, or comparable systems approved by Med-Care Providers.
• Training and demonstrated competency in neurofeedback equipment operation, electrode placement, session monitoring, documentation, and basic troubleshooting.
• Professional communication, sound judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to follow written clinical and operational protocols.
• Reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and automobile insurance appropriate for required travel.
• Ability to satisfy lawful background, identity, credential, reference, and exclusion-screening requirements before providing services.

Preferred Qualifications

• BCIA certification or other recognized neurofeedback or biofeedback training.
• Experience in mobile healthcare, behavioral health, home-based services, or working with patients receiving care for conditions such as anxiety, depression, PTSD, ADHD, or insomnia.

Equipment and Information Security

The contractor must provide any required equipment identified in the written engagement agreement. Equipment must be legally marketed for its intended use, properly maintained and calibrated, compatible with Med-Care Providers’ authorized protocols, and used in accordance with manufacturer instructions and applicable law. Company, patient, and referral information may be accessed only for authorized business purposes and may not be copied, downloaded, photographed, transferred, or retained outside approved systems.

Engagement and Compensation

This is an independent-contractor opportunity with compensation paid per completed session at the rate stated in the written contractor agreement. Scheduling, service area, equipment obligations, expenses, insurance requirements, and payment terms will be governed by that agreement. Patient volume, referrals, hours, and continued engagement are not guaranteed. The contractor is responsible for taxes, insurance, licenses, and business expenses except as expressly stated in writing.

Conditions of Engagement

Before receiving patient or system access, the selected contractor must sign all required independent-contractor, confidentiality, data-security, and compliance agreements; complete required training; and maintain all credentials and insurance applicable to the services. Med-Care Providers may limit or suspend assignments when credentials, training, documentation, safety, privacy, or compliance requirements are not satisfied.
