About the Role:School of Rock in West Des Moines, IA is looking for a passionate and talented Drum Instructor to inspire the next generation of musicians! This is your chance to share your love of drumming in a fun, performance-driven environment where students don't just learn music — they live it.

Responsibilities:

• Provide engaging one-on-one drum lessons to students of varying ages and skill levels
• Develop personalized lesson plans aligned with School of Rock's proven music curriculum
• Prepare students for live performances and seasonal shows
• Track student progress and communicate updates with parents and staff
• Collaborate with other instructors and music directors to support ensemble rehearsals
• Foster a positive, encouraging, and energetic learning environment
• Maintain and monitor proper use of drum equipment and studio space

Requirements:

• Proficient drummer with strong knowledge of various genres including rock, pop, and blues
• Prior teaching, gigging experience in a band, and/or music instruction experience preferred
• Ability to connect with and motivate children, teens, and adult learners
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Reliable, punctual, and professional demeanor
• Passion for music education and performance
• Ability to read music or strong familiarity with rhythm notation is a plus
