Position Summary: 

The MSW Clinical Case Manager Intern provides support to the Wellness Department which consists of Counseling and Disability and Accessibility Services, and the BRIDGE Team by managing cases relating to mental health, accommodations, and basic needs.  The Clinical Case Manager Intern will contact and meet with students to assist with identifying resources, getting them connected, and following-up on the services received. This role is essential in ensuring the accessibility and equal learning opportunities for all students. The Clinical Case Manager Intern will work closely with the Licensed Clinical Supervisor, Coordinator of Disability and Accessibility Services, and Sr. Director of Wellness for guidance, training, and to maintain confidentiality and uphold ethics in the department of Wellness  Weekly supervision will be provided by the Licensed Clinical Supervisor or Sr. Director of Wellness.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Create an environment of safety for students to engage in discussion around mental health and basic needs referrals, and disability and accessibility concerns. 

• Manage cases in the BRIDGE Team, Disability and Accessibility Services, and Counseling Services by connecting with students regularly to monitor the progression of services referred or rendered.   

• Document interactions and engagements held with students in cases relating to the BRIDGE team, Disability and Accessibility Service, and Counseling Services in accordance to ethical and legal standards set by the National Association of Social Work and the California Board of Behavioral Sciences. 

• Support the implementation and coordination of academic accommodations in collaboration with the Coordinator of Disability and Accessibility Services, faculty, and relevant campus departments. 

• Follow guidelines and training provided by Wellness Services and Disability and Accessibility Services. 

• Maintain confidentiality of all student-related information and comply with FERPA regulations. 

• Attend weekly supervision meetings with the licensed clinical supervisor and/or designee. 

• Be punctual and appropriately dressed for all scheduled shifts and assignments.

• Report any risk factors, such as disclosures of suicide, self-harm, harm to others, child abuse, or elder abuse, to an immediate supervisor, designee, or staff person. 

• As appropriate and as assigned, provide confidential clinical mental health services that meet the standards of care with the National Association of Social Work and the California Board of Behavioral Sciences.  

• Assist with wellness class or workshop preparations, such as room setup or reset, scheduling, and food order receiving.

• Provide introductory workshops and tabling at campus events representing wellness and providing information on mental health, disability and accessibility, basic needs, and wellness services. 

• Other duties as assigned by the Licensed Clinical Supervisor or Sr. Director of Wellness.

Qualifications: 

• Must be a current student in good academic standing in a master’s-level social work program, accruing practicum/internship supervised professional experience.   

• Must have strong writing, organizational, and communication skills. 

• Proficient in written English, grammar, and organization. 

• Legible handwriting, accurate spelling, and proficiency in the use of computers. 

• Ability to communicate with students of varied multicultural backgrounds. 

• Ability to listen actively and effectively, provide empathy, and record information accurately.  Reliable, punctual, good work ethic, and professional demeanor. 

• Understanding of accessibility and mental health needs and willingness to support students requiring assistance. 

• Basic understanding of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, and principles of accessibility and inclusion in higher education preferred.  

• Familiarity with trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and student-centered approaches to care and support. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Knowledge of mental health, disability and accessibility, and basic need topics and issues.  

• Comfort in having conversations that may be mentally challenging or demanding. 

• Previous clinical therapy experience. 

Work Schedule: 

• Two days a week, Monday - Friday, between 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM 

• 16 hours per week. 

• Must be available during weekdays, especially Thursdays.  Some evening and weekend assignments are possible.

Salary Range: $24.00- $27.00 per hour.
