We are a well-funded, early-stage AI lab focused on building the next generation of frontier multimodal AI models. Founded by former DeepMind researchers, including Andrew Dai, who was previously a leader on Gemini. Our team currently consists of 20 world-class scientists and engineers. We recently raised $55M in seed funding from Striker Ventures, Menlo Ventures, Altimeter Capital, and NVIDIA. We are tackling some of the hardest problems in artificial intelligence, and we are growing fast.

About the Role

We are looking for a model safety contractor to support safety evaluation and/or safety training data work. This is a full-time contractor role estimated at 40hr/week.

Responsibilities

• Design and run safety evaluations on model outputs (jailbreak resistance, harmful content refusal, bias checks)

• Produce or curate safety training data as needed

• Document findings and flag risks clearly for the team

• Recommend mitigations or follow-up work based on evaluation results

Skills and Qualifications

Requirements:

• Experience with LLM safety evaluation, red-teaming, or safety data annotation

• Familiarity with harm taxonomies and safety benchmarks

• Strong written communication for documenting findings

Preferred qualifications (strong candidates may have some, not all):

• Prior work at an AI lab, safety org, or academic safety research background

• Experience with multimodal model safety specifically

Logistics

• Location: This role can be remote or on-site in Palo Alto, California.

• Compensation: $75-125/hr, depending on experience
