Microsoft System and Identity Administrator

We are seeking a motivated Microsoft System and Identity Administrator to support the administration, security, and day-to-day operations of our enterprise identity and cloud services environment. This role will assist with Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure Active Directory), user lifecycle management, authentication services, Microsoft 365 administration, and core Microsoft Azure cloud operations.

A primary responsibility of this position will be supporting identity and access management functions, including the integration and synchronization between Microsoft Entra and Workday. The Associate Engineer will help ensure accurate employee provisioning, role assignments, and account deprovisioning processes throughout the employee lifecycle while supporting security and compliance objectives.

In addition to identity management responsibilities, this role will provide operational support for Microsoft 365 services and Azure cloud platforms, assisting with administration, troubleshooting, monitoring, and continuous improvement initiatives. The Associate Engineer will work closely with senior engineers, security teams, infrastructure teams, and business stakeholders to support a modern cloud-first technology environment.

The ideal candidate possesses foundational knowledge of Microsoft cloud technologies, strong troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, and a desire to develop expertise in identity, cloud infrastructure, and Microsoft 365 administration.

Key Responsibilities

• Identity & Access Management (Primary Focus)
• Support administration and maintenance of Microsoft Entra ID and related identity services.
• Assist with user provisioning, deprovisioning, and role-based access management processes.
• Support synchronization and lifecycle management integrations between Workday and Microsoft Entra.
• Monitor and troubleshoot authentication, federation, single sign-on (SSO), and identity synchronization issues.
• Assist with implementation and support of Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), Conditional Access, and identity security controls.
• Participate in access reviews, governance initiatives, and identity-related audit activities.
• Create and maintain operational documentation and support procedures.

Secondary Responsibilities

• Microsoft 365 Administration
• Assist with administration and support of Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, and related collaboration tools.
• Support user account administration, licensing, mailbox management, distribution groups, and collaboration services.
• Assist in troubleshooting service issues impacting end users and business operations.
• Monitor Microsoft service health notifications and assist with issue remediation efforts.
• Support Microsoft Intune and endpoint management initiatives as assigned.

Microsoft Azure Administration

• Assist with administration and monitoring of Azure subscriptions, resource groups, and cloud services.
• Support management of Azure virtual machines, storage accounts, networking components, and platform services.
• Monitor Azure resources for availability, performance, and security compliance.
• Assist with implementation of cloud governance, cost management, and operational best practices.
• Support automation and process improvement efforts using PowerShell, Azure Automation, or other Microsoft tools.

General Responsibilities

• Participate in incident response, troubleshooting, and operational support activities.
• Work collaboratively with Infrastructure, Security, HR, and Application teams.
• Support cloud modernization and digital transformation projects.
• Contribute to process documentation, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement efforts.
• Pursue ongoing technical development through certifications and training.
• Other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in IT infrastructure, systems administration, cloud technologies, or identity management.
• Basic understanding of Microsoft Entra ID, Active Directory, Azure, and Microsoft 365 administration.
• Familiarity with core IAM concepts including SSO, MFA, RBAC, Conditional Access, and Identity Governance.
• Exposure to Azure services such as virtual machines, networking, storage, or monitoring tools.
• Exposure to Microsoft 365 administration, including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, or Intune.
• Experience supporting enterprise SaaS applications and cloud-based platforms.
• Basic PowerShell scripting or automation experience preferred.
• Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

• Microsoft Certified: Identity and Access Administrator Associate (SC-300)
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104)
• Microsoft 365 Certified: Endpoint Administrator Associate (MD-102)
• Microsoft 365 Certified: Administrator Expert (desired for future growth) Interest in sustainability and passionate about making a meaningful impact on the environment.

Compensation & Benefits

Resource Innovations offers competitive salaries based on a candidate's skills, experience and qualifications for the position.  The compensation range for the base salary for this position is $90,000-$115,000. In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus.  The stated salary represents the expected compensation for this position. Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as the candidate's experience, education and location.
