Microbiologist Technician Intern

BioTechnique is a sterile injectable full service CDMO providing cytotoxic and therapeutic sterile injectable fill-finish services. From IND applications through commercial scale production, we provide formulation and compounding, fill-finish, and lyophilization services for a wide variety of liquid injectables. BioTechnique utilizes our team’s expertise to create a process design for our clients’ products that best suits their needs.

Your Role

We are hiring a motivated Microbiology Technician Intern to join our team! The Microbiology Technician Intern supports BioTechnique’s Quality Control operations by executing microbiological and environmental monitoring activities in a sterile manufacturing setting. Interns perform sampling, microbial analysis, execute disinfectant efficacy testing (DET), and documentation in compliance with GMP and industry standards. 

This is a Fall 2026 Semester Internship, with potential extension and immediate start. Internship availability should include a variety of weekday and weekend availability. Candidates must currently be local to York, PA or surrounding commutable region.​

• Follow aseptic gowning procedures and wear required PPE in classified cleanroom environments.
• Independently conducts routine testing and monitoring activities; supports compendial compliance.
• Execute microbial testing and environmental monitoring of product samples, utilities, surfaces, air, and personnel according to SOPs and compendial standards. 
• Execute disinfectant efficacy testing (DET) and related microbiological assays.
• Prepare and maintain media, sampling kits, and test solutions per SOPs and compendial requirements; support sterilization practices as applicable.
• Operate biological safety cabinets and laboratory instrumentation while following aseptic techniques.
• Perform routine cleaning and sanitization of laboratory spaces and support equipment maintenance and calibration.
• Document results accurately in validated systems (ACE, LIMS) and maintain data integrity.
• Participate in periodic lab and equipment cleaning and monthly tasks.
• Support cross-functional collaboration with Quality Assurance, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Facilities.
• Contribute to inventory management and reagent tracking.
• Additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned from time to time.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a degree in a related technical field.
• Must be local to York, PA.
• Must be able to continue an on-going internship duration following semester breaks, (i.e. part-time or a minimum of 10-15hrs/week throughout the academic semesters).
• Strong knowledge of quality systems and regulations, including cGMP, ISO standards, and FDA/EU requirements.
• Proficiency in document control, change control, and electronic quality management systems (eQMS).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
• No C2C at this time.
