Palm Point Behavioral Health treats adults, children and adolescents that suffer from a wide range of behavioral health diagnoses including, depression, anxiety and substance abuse in a modern and well-appointed facility. We are currently looking for a qualified PRN Mental Health Technician (MHT) to join our team of dedicated Behavioral Health professionals working with Adults and Adolescents dealing with psychiatric issues. The Mental Health Tech (MHT) provides direct care support and functions as an active part of the treatment team, providing continuous patient care, supervision, interaction, and role modeling to adolescent patients. The Mental Health Tech works under the direction of the Registered Nurse.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

• Facilitates group activities tailored to the appropriate topic, age, and level of understanding as approved by the Program Coordinator.
• Ensures patients are consistently monitored in the proper location for the duration of activities.
• Provides appropriate crisis intervention as necessary by anticipating and responding quickly to escalating behaviors, utilizing de-escalation techniques to diffuse the situation, correctly prioritizing safety concerns.

Qualifications

Requirements

• High school graduation or equivalent.
• Some college course work preferred.
• Prefer one (1) year related experience. Psychiatric Technician experience is preferred.
