Men's Ice Hockey Team Manager

Position Summary

The Albright College Men's Hockey Team Equipment Manager & Social Media Manager will support the daily operations, organization, and public presentation of the Albright Men's Hockey program.

This position combines responsibility for team equipment and locker room operations with management of the team's social media presence. The Equipment Manager will work closely with the coaching staff and players and will travel with the team for road games and competitions.

The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, responsible, and comfortable working in a fast-paced athletic environment. An interest in hockey, athletics, sports media, photography, video, or communications is preferred.

This position requires the ability and willingness to travel with the team for road games. The student employee should expect to work some evenings, early mornings, weekends, and extended hours on game days and travel days. All work hours, including approved team travel responsibilities, are subject to the Federal Work Study 19-hour-per-week maximum.

Equipment Manager Responsibilities

• Maintain organization and cleanliness of the team's locker room and equipment areas.
• Assist coaches and staff with equipment needs before and after practices and games.
• Prepare the locker room and team areas for home games.
• Prepare equipment and team supplies for road games.
• Pack, organize, load, and unload team equipment for road trips.
• Travel with the team to road games and assist with equipment responsibilities throughout the trip.
• Ensure equipment and team supplies arrive at road venues and are properly organized.
• Assist with equipment setup and breakdown at home and away games.
• Assist with laundry and organization of team practice and game apparel as assigned.
• Identify equipment or supply needs and communicate them to the coaching staff.
• Perform other hockey operations duties as assigned by the coaching staff.

Social Media Responsibilities

• Assist in managing Albright Men's Hockey social media accounts.
• Provide social media coverage during home and away games.
• Create and publish game-day content, including pregame information, in-game updates, highlights, and final results.
• Create graphics and promotional content using available design tools.
• Promote home games, special events, community activities, and team initiatives.
• Coordinate content with the Head Coach and Albright Athletics when appropriate.
• Ensure all social media content reflects the standards and values of Albright College and Albright Men's Hockey.

Road Game Responsibilities

The Equipment Manager & Social Media Manager will travel with the team for assigned road games and will be responsible for supporting both equipment and social media operations while traveling.

The ability to travel with the team for road games is an essential function of this position.

Qualifications

• Must be an Albright College student eligible for Federal Work Study.
• Must be available to travel with the hockey team for road games.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Dependable and punctual.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Comfortable working around college athletes and coaching staff.
• Able to work evenings, weekends, early mornings, and extended game-day schedules.
• Interest in hockey, athletics, sports media, photography, or communications preferred.
• Experience with social media platforms preferred.

• Experience with Canva, Adobe or similar programs is a plus.

Work Schedule

Maximum: 19 hours per week

Hours will vary based on the hockey schedule and may include:

• Weekday practices
• Evening practices
• Home games
• Away games and team travel
• Weekends

The work schedule will be coordinated with the student's academic responsibilities. All work hours must remain within the applicable Federal Work Study weekly hour limit.
