The YMCA of Indiana County is seeking a friendly, dependable, and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Membership Services Representative (MSR). The MSR serves as the first point of contact for YMCA members, guests, and program participants, creating a welcoming and positive experience for everyone who enters our facility.

Under the direction of the Membership Coordinator, this position provides exceptional customer service by assisting with memberships, program registrations, facility access, payments, and general member questions. The Membership Services Representative promotes YMCA programs and services while demonstrating our core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, Responsibility, and Teamwork.

Responsibilities include:

Welcome and assist members, guests, and participants in a friendly and professional manner.
Provide information about YMCA programs, memberships, schedules, and facility operations.
Process memberships, program registrations, payments, refunds, and other transactions accurately.
Answer phones, respond to inquiries, and direct questions appropriately.
Promote YMCA programs, events, and services to enhance member engagement.
Maintain a clean, organized, safe, and welcoming front desk environment.
Monitor member check-in procedures and follow YMCA membership policies.
Maintain confidentiality of member and organizational information.
Support special events, membership promotions, and YMCA initiatives.
Work collaboratively with staff across departments to provide excellent service.
Attend required meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities.
Complete additional duties as assigned by YMCA leadership.

Qualifications:
High school diploma or currently pursuing a high school diploma required.
Previous customer service, hospitality, recreation, or front desk experience preferred but not required.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to provide excellent customer service and build positive relationships.
Ability to remain professional and composed in a fast-paced environment.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to accurately handle payments, registrations, and confidential information.
Ability to learn YMCA software systems, including Daxko.
Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment.
Dependable and flexible with availability, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events as needed.

MSR I Qualifications:

0–3 years of customer service or front desk experience preferred.
Basic knowledge of YMCA programs and procedures preferred.

MSR II Qualifications:

3+ years of customer service, membership services, hospitality, recreation, or related experience preferred.
Advanced knowledge of membership procedures and customer service operations preferred.
Ability to manage complex member service situations and transactions.

Required Clearances & Certifications:

FBI Fingerprint Clearance (Department of Human Services)
PA State Police PATCH Clearance
PA Child Abuse Clearance
Mandated Reporter Training
Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED and Great American Academy certifications must be completed within 90 days of hire.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during scheduled shifts.
Ability to occasionally bend, stoop, reach, and lift up to 35 pounds.
Ability to maintain reliable attendance and punctuality.
