Raleigh Medical Group, PA is seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our Family Dermatology clinical team in Raleigh. This role supports providers and patients with patient intake, examinations, in-office dermatology procedures, treatments, patient education, documentation, and coordination of care.
The ideal candidate is organized, team-oriented, eager to learn, and comfortable working in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Responsibilities
Prepare and room patients for examinations and dermatology visits.
Obtain and document patient medical histories, medication information, allergies, and vital signs.
Assist providers during examinations and in-office dermatology procedures.
Provide basic wound care and apply dressings or bandages as directed.
Administer medications or injections as directed by the physician and within scope of practice.
Collect, label, and prepare laboratory and pathology specimens following established protocols.
Assist with skin biopsies, lesion removals, cryotherapy, and other in-office dermatology procedures as directed.
Clean, disinfect, sterilize, and maintain instruments and equipment according to established procedures.
Ensure exam and procedure rooms are clean, fully stocked, and prepared for patient care.
Document patient care, procedures, treatments, and results accurately in the EMR.
Support prescription refills and communication with pharmacies according to established protocols.
Assist with prior authorizations, referrals, scheduling, and patient follow-up as directed.
Provide clear patient instructions regarding medications, wound care, treatment plans, and pre- and post-procedure care as directed by the provider.
Respond to non-emergent patient questions according to provider guidance and office protocols.
Maintain compliance with OSHA, infection-control, HIPAA, and safety standards.
Qualifications
Required:
High School Diploma or GED
Previous Medical Assistant experience required ( minimum of 1 year experience)
Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills
Preferred:
Previous medical office experience
Previous dermatology or in-office procedure experience
Experience with electronic health record (EHR/EMR) systems
