Position Overview:

Research, design, develop and substantiate mechanical, thermal, and/or electromechanical systems used in executive jet interiors.

Essential Functions:                                                                                                                           

Guides, trains junior Engineers on the proper company Engineering Change Order documentation.
Solves moderate to complex technical challenges.
Performs and/or leads new product design using Inventor of our most complex products.
Creates technical proposals and costs estimates for our customers.
Develops test plans, evaluates results, validation and verification efforts to align design with requirements.
Support builds on the production floor.
Create, check and approve manufacturing document packages including drawing and work instructions.
Tracks project with compliance matrix, manpower schedules.  Reporting project progress to management.
Collaborates effectively with hardware, firmware and certification engineers.

Excellent teamwork skills and high degree of initiative required
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, at all levels in the company, with customers and suppliers.
Ability to work independently for long periods of time and possess a high level of self-motivation and initiative
Skilled with MS Suite (Word, Excel, Project, Powerpoint, Outlook)
Skilled with 3-D modeling and 2-D drafting using Inventor in a Solidworks PDM vault.
Ability to perform engineering calculations to substantiate a design
Ability to read and understand wiring diagrams, firmware requirements, FMEA, FHA, SSA documents.
Knowledge of aviation material specifications and standard hardware specifications to comply with strength, flammability and other performance requirements.

QualificationsEducation, Certifications and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering
4-10 years’ experience in aerospace preferred.  Oil field equipment, robotics or automation equipment.

Working conditions are normal for that of a manufacturing/machine shop/office environment.
