Job Description
Overview
Support the Transportation and Materials Department in receiving and ordering steel.
Responsibilities
- Maintain document control of department records
- Verify and maintain receiving records for the department
- Backup to the Logistics Clerk, Rail Clerk and Purchasing Assistant
- Provide routine updates of departmental performance statistics
- Check acknowledgements of hot band orders
- Scan and file BOLs and other files with retention requirements
- Maintain a daily shipping report
- Perform other miscellaneous administrative and clerical duties
Qualifications
Required
- Strong safety record
- 2+ years of experience in a related field (or 2-year degree in business or related discipline)
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
- Excellent organizational skills
- Capable of prioritizing and multitasking
- Must be self-motivated, able to make decisions, and work without direct supervision
- Must maintain and ensure complete confidentiality of employee records
- Must establish and maintain professional and effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, managers, administrators, other departments, and external entities/agencies
Preferred
- Clerical, logistics, and inventory management experience
