LOCATION: Clifton Springs Hospital - 2 Coulter Rd, Clifton Springs, NY 14432

DEPARTMENT: Spa Operations

SCHEDULE: Day shift, 6-hr. shifts (Tuesday, Thursday, & Friday); 1:00 pm - 6:00 pm

POSITION SUMMARY
The position of Licensed Massage Therapist is responsible for developing a full-capacity practice, providing educational venues for Clifton Springs Hospital & clinic staff, community, and assisting other professional staff within The Springs.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Treatment. Provide massage therapy (Swedish, Deep Tissue and Signature), hydrotherapy and other bodywork treatments for clients; assist in poultices and other special treatments; demonstrate evaluation skills, palpation accuracy and recognize contraindications to treatment

• Leadership & Collaboration. Assist with educational programs for hospital staff and community; participate in research projects; write articles both in concert with other practitioners and alone

• General Duties. Spa Attendant duties as assigned (housekeeping, maintaining supplies, assisting other practitioners with rooming, etc.)

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Successful completion of NYS-recognized massage school​

• Required Licensure/Certification Skills: NYS licensure as a massage therapist.

• Compassionate, kind, and patient-focused

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Basic computer skills to include Microsoft Word and Excel

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Moderate - Clinical - Moderate clinical roles are patient facing roles that require continual movement, including standing, walking, and lifting 20–50 lbs., along with pushing and pulling medical equipment and assisting with patient positioning. Employees perform frequent bending, twisting, and reaching while completing fine motor tasks in busy or confined clinical environments. High sensory acuity is essential for monitoring patient status and responding to alarms or safety concerns. Emotional and cognitive demands are substantial, involving decision-making under pressure, responding to emergencies, and maintaining sustained focus. Environmental exposures include infectious agents, bodily fluids, chemicals, and radiation. TB testing, mask-fit testing, and physical exams are common requirements.

The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
