MASSAGE THERAPIST - ON CALL

Job Description:

Therapists will consult with clients to assess their skin requirements, make informed recommendations, and explain services to help assist them with treatment selection and their care and satisfaction. Therapists will ensure treatments begin and end on time. Will have knowledge to promote and sell services and retail products. Ensure work areas and equipment is clean and sanitized after each treatment.

Responsibility:

• Perform massages and body treatments on guests with professionalism, care and attentiveness to each guest’s needs.
• Performing consultations
• Scheduling 
• Analyze and consult on needs with guests prior to treatments according to TBP Spa guidelines. Be familiar and able to recommend other spa services if needed and selling the spa’s featured products.
• Maintain proper body mechanics and remain attentive to your physical state
• Comply with room set —up and sanitation procedures, inventory & linen dispensation guidelines, and safety measures. Assist in maintaining wet treatment rooms and any other spa treatment locations. Notify manager/supervisor of any hazardous areas that need to be addressed
• Inform managers of ways to improve overall operation of the spa and resort, working conditions and comfort of our guests
• Read official spa memo board daily and sign off on important information.
• Participate in opening, mid-shift, and closing spa duties.
• Attend and or assist Spa in activities such as staff meetings, promotions, housekeeping duties
• Maintain and increase knowledge of bodywork treatments by attending in-house instruction, and education/training classes
• Ability to verbally communicate effectively with guests and co- workers.
• Assist in other areas and demonstrate teamwork.
• Perform wraps, sugar and salt scrubs, and compression wraps
• Are polite and well-mannered
• Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Are well-spoken and articulate
• Able to quickly assess the needs and wants of their clients
• Have excellent time management skills
• Can solve problems and handle multi-tasking
• Can work well both alone and with a team
• Have a neat and polished appearance
• Have the physical stamina to stand on their feet for long periods of time throughout the day
• Always maintain professionalism, tact, and discretion
• Have a friendly, outgoing personality
• Maintain cleanliness of the treatment rooms
• Spa side work 
• Other tasks as assigned

Requirements:

• State license to practice as a massage therapist (CAMTC Certification).
• 3+ years of industry experience.
• Proficient in performing all applicable treatments.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Outstanding people skills and a warm, friendly manner.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and to lift 50 pounds.
• Ability to maintain client confidentiality.
• Must work weekends and holidays
• Must have open availability
