Marketing Strategist (YouTube)

Mission of the Role 

The mission of the Marketing Strategist (YouTube) is to design and lead YouTube strategies that drive measurable business growth for our clients. YouTube is one of the highest-value GEO channels we invest in. It shapes what buyers watch, what Google surfaces, and what LLMs cite. This role owns channel strategy end to end: what gets made, who appears on camera, how each video is packaged, and how the program performs. It combines deep analytical thinking with strong creative instincts, partnering across teams, production partners, and clients to turn performance data into actionable strategy. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Develop and execute comprehensive, data-driven YouTube strategies aligned with client objectives and pipeline goals. 
• Analyze YouTube Analytics, VidIQ data, retention curves, search and suggested traffic, and LLM citation trends to uncover strategic opportunities for channel growth.
• Own packaging strategy across accounts: titles, thumbnails, hooks, descriptions, chapters, and Shorts. 
• Source, vet, and brief on-camera talent and creators who fit each client's audience and category. 
• Lead collaborative planning sessions with GEO/SEO, Creative, and production teams (internal and external partners) to ensure video programs operate as cohesive systems.
• Conduct recurring channel audits, identifying growth gaps and recommending improvements. 
• Build scalable frameworks, playbooks, and documentation to standardize strategy execution across accounts. 
• Use AI tools throughout the workflow (research, scripting support, optimization) to compress production time and cost without sacrificing quality. 
• Present strategic findings, performance outcomes, and recommendations to clients and internal stakeholders with clarity and authority. 
• Mentor junior strategists by modeling analytical depth, structured thinking, and professional communication. 
• Maintain alignment between video initiatives and larger digital marketing and business KPIs.

Required Experience 

• 5+ years in YouTube strategy, video content strategy, or channel growth. B2B or SaaS experience strongly preferred. 
• Proven success growing YouTube channels or video programs that achieve measurable business outcomes. 
• Advanced analytical and reporting skills (e.g., YouTube Studio, VidIQ or TubeBuddy, Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Ahrefs, HubSpot). Familiarity with AI visibility platforms such as Profound is a plus. 
• Experience managing video production ecosystems: scripting, creators, editors, and outside production partners. 
• Clear written and verbal communication. Able to translate complex insights into clear, persuasive narratives. 
• Exceptional ability to present and deliver consultative value to clients and stakeholders, focusing on evidence and structured recommendations. 

Metrics/KPIs 

• Achievement rate of channel-related KPIs (watch time, click-through rate, retention, subscriber growth). 
• Growth in qualified traffic, pipeline, and conversions tied to video initiatives.
• Strategic deliverables delivered on time and to spec. 
• Client satisfaction with clarity and usefulness of strategy. 
• Efficiency gains through improved systems, playbooks, and AI-assisted workflows. 

Position Details 

• Full-time (Monday to Friday, ~40 hours/week), Full Remote 
• Target Location: Global

Compensation

• Base salary $70k–95k CAD depending on experience and location, OTE $80k–115k CAD
• Variable compensation: team performance bonus and company-wide profit-sharing
