Marketing Intern, The Star District
1-Year Internship | Part-Time (up to 30 hours/week) 

We are seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated, and highly organized Marketing Intern to support marketing efforts for The Star District, the shopping, dining, and entertainment destination at The Star in Frisco.

This role will report to The Star's Senior Marketing Manager and work closely with marketing, property management, tenants, and internal stakeholders to support a wide range of initiatives including tenant communications, event marketing and coordination, content coordination, website and newsletter management, signage updates, and promotional campaign support.

The ideal candidate is a strong communicator with exceptional organizational skills, a passion for retail and experiential marketing, and a pulse on emerging marketing, social media, and consumer trends.

Primary Focus: The Star District

Tenant Communications & Coordination

• Assist with day-to-day marketing communications for Star District tenants.
• Support tenant outreach, marketing opt-ins, promotional requests, surveys, and partnership opportunities.
• Build relationships with tenants through regular communication and attendance at tenant meetings as needed.
• Help coordinate twice-annual tenant meetings and related materials.
• Collect, organize, and maintain tenant assets, promotions, events, and content for use across marketing channels.

District Events

• Support the planning, promotion, and execution of community and retail events throughout the year.
• Assist with event marketing coordination, including creative requests, asset collection, signage, promotional materials, and onsite event needs.
• Provide onsite marketing support during District events.
• Assist with larger strategic events and initiatives led by the Senior Marketing Manager.
• Help track event budgets and support post-event reporting and recaps.

Content & Digital Marketing

• Assist in social media editorial calendar creation and content creation in partnership with The Star social media team.
• Support tenant promotion opportunities, event coverage, and content-capture efforts.
• Support with submitting creative requests related to The Star District events and promotions.
• Contribute to email marketing campaigns and help coordinate District content for newsletters.
• Maintain website updates for TheStarDistrict.com and related web properties, including events, promotions, and evergreen content.
• Assist with gathering and organizing assets for paid media campaigns.
• Support digital signage updates across The Star campus and related properties.

Marketing & PR Coordination

• Assist with seasonal event announcements in collaboration with public relations partners and internal stakeholders.
• Support the execution of District media plans under the direction of the Senior Marketing Manager.

Signage & Campus Coordination

• Assist with routine updates to onsite signage, directories, marquee messaging, and promotional displays.
• Support monthly event messaging and campus marketing communications.
• Help maintain calendars, project timelines, asset trackers, and other organizational tools that support marketing initiatives.

Research & Administrative Support

• Conduct competitive market research and monitor trends across retail, entertainment, hospitality, and marketing industries.
• Contribute creative ideas and recommendations for marketing campaigns, events, and promotions.
• Assist with budget tracking, reporting, and other marketing analysis projects.
• Support daily administrative and organizational responsibilities for the marketing team.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Advertising, or a related field.
• Previous internship or relevant experience in marketing, events, communications, retail marketing, or a related field preferred.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Passion for retail, marketing, events, brand activations, and consumer experiences.
• Highly organized, proactive, dependable, and detail-oriented.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong problem-solving and project coordination skills.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office, WordPress, email marketing platforms, and project management tools.
• Knowledge of social media platforms including Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and emerging channels.
• Understanding of current marketing trends, digital media, and content best practices.
• Ability to work occasional evenings, weekends, and special events as required.
