Marketing and Communications Assistant

The UNM School of Engineering Dean’s Office is seeking a highly motivated, creative student to assist with communications and marketing efforts. This student must be able to interact professionally with students, faculty and staff. Key attributes of a student in this position are a willingness to learn, ability to proofread content and personal initiative.

Duties:

Conduct interviews, write and fact-check news-related content for the School’s departments, newsletter and social media accounts.

Take photos and/or video for stories and social media posts.

Produce flyers and other graphic design projects in accordance to UNM Brand guidelines and standards.

Support the SoE Marketing Manager with administrative tasks related to communications and marketing projects.

Please provide a portfolio with at least three writing samples and any multimedia work you would like to share.

Equivalencies not found for this position

• GPA of 3.0 or better, pursuing
  any degree.
• Knowledge of AP Style
• Experience with the Adobe
  Creative Suite and Adobe Express
• Proofreading and editing skills
• Outstanding attention to detail
  and ability to follow specific instructions
• Strong customer service,
  verbal, and written communication skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
  of records and information
• Ability
  to analyze, troubleshoot and to make evaluative judgements
• Proficiency
  with Microsoft Office Suite, including proficiency in Excel and Word
