Who You Are

The Episcopal Academy seeks a Manager of Crew Operations to oversee the day-to-day logistics and operational needs of our rowing program. This role will ensure equipment, transportation, and program logistics run smoothly while also providing coaching support to our Upper School crew team. Reporting to the Head Crew Coach, this role is essential to creating a well-structured, safe, and enriching environment for our student-athletes.

What You Will Do

• Support the operation of the Upper School crew program during the fall, winter, and spring seasons.
• Assist with coaching during practices and competitions.
• Coordinate and supervise weekday transportation between campus and the boathouse.
• Provide weekend transportation for student-athletes during the spring racing season.
• Maintain boats, launches, trailers, oars, ergometers, and other rowing equipment, coordinating repairs as needed.
• Manage equipment inventory, supplies, repairs, replacements, and purchases.
• Ensure equipment is properly stored, maintained, and race-ready throughout the year.
• Provide logistical and operational support for regattas, practices, and other team events.

The ideal candidate will bring strong organizational skills, a collaborative approach, and a commitment to providing a safe and positive experience for student-athletes. Key qualifications and expectations for the role include:

• Experience in rowing, coaching, or crew program operations preferred.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Availability during weekday afternoons throughout the school year and on weekends during the spring crew season.
• Flexibility to work occasional evenings or additional weekend hours for regattas and program needs.
• Ability to safely transport students in school-approved vehicles or willingness to obtain required certification.
• Ability to lift and carry rowing equipment and work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.
• A commitment to fostering a safe, positive, and student-centered athletic environment.
