As a Manager of Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) you will supervise and oversee staff assigned to chart reviews, consumer satisfaction, and ETPS monitoring,

DEFINITION:

Under immediate to general supervision, supervises the Performance Improvement area of the Training and Compliance Department.  This includes activities including but not limited to: chart reviews for compliance with ODMHSAS and OHCA standards, quarterly client satisfaction surveys, training for EHR and documentation standards, workflow development and training, and quarterly performance improvement reports.  This position is supervised by the Director of Clinical Excellence.
Qualifications: EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Must have a bachelor’s degree in a mental health related field from an accredited university and two years of performance improvement and/or clinical documentation experience or a master’s degree in a mental health field with one year of performance improvement and/or clinical documentation experience.  May also have experience in providing direct services in a mental health related field.

Knowledge of CCBHC philosophy of care to include case management, team-based, and integrated care.  Must be able to interpret rules, standards, and guidelines and identify and implement a plan of action based on documentation requirements.

Knowledge of inpatient, crisis stabilization and outpatient services for adults and children.

Must be a self-starter and able to work independently.

Must be able to review compliance standards and make recommendations about how to ensure compliance with chart documentation.

Must develop working relationships with clinical staff, supervisees, and supervisors.

Must possess the ability to train staff and assess for comprehension of information.

Must be very detail oriented.

Must be able to train staff in a manner which promotes learning.

An expectation of core competencies in relation to individuals with co-occurring disorders, trauma informed care and collaborative care.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position is responsible and held accountable for the following duties:

Supervises staff assigned to performance and quality improvement. Creates a work climate that emphasizes collective team performance and demonstrates Lighthouse’s mission and core values.  Participates in the hiring, training, and evaluation of staff performance.

Trains Performance Improvement team members on chart documentation requirements, chart audits and reports, service code definitions, and service plan reviews.

Follows guidelines and ensures compliance of clinical records for Title XIX; Medicaid, Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services (ODMHSAS), and other funding sources or regulatory agencies.  Maintains knowledge of current compliance requirements and standards.

Reviews clinical records for funding source, contract requirements, and accreditation standards and instructs staff on chart correction and compliance on a regular basis.

Assists in development of chart audit tools that result in determination of clinical compliance with certifying, accrediting, and funding bodies.

Ensures that ETPS measures are being monitored appropriately by Lighthouse leaders and work to mitigate any potential barriers.

Travels to Lighthouse sites (or provides via Zoom) to ensure agency wide compliance and to provide staff training.  Utilizes outcomes of chart reviews to develop training in collaboration with the training department.

Updates and maintains accurate workflows for outpatient and crisis services.  Works with Lighthouse leaders to develop and update workflows appropriately.  Provides staff training on workflows.

Assists in recording data and preparing reports as required by funding and certifying bodies.

Leads agency Performance Improvement Committee.  Functions as a member of other relevant agency committees.

Monitors and ensures clinical records meet criteria for outside audits.  Assists in preparing for certification audits.

Works collaboratively and communicates effectively with direct supervisor, site supervisors, clinical staff, and supervisees.

Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job requirement.

Employee must be willing and able to perform all job related travel normally associated with this position.

Must meet “satisfactory” expectations at any scheduled job performance evaluation, coaching and/or Performance Improvement Plans.

Must complete Lighthouse required training and resulting follow up and consultation as required at hire, annually and as directed by Supervisor.

Performs other reasonably related duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor or other management as requested.

In addition, must possess skill in working cooperatively and effectively with clients, staff, management and other professional and community groups; in exercising mature judgment in dealing with people; in presenting ideas clearly and accurately; in reading and comprehending the English language; and in communicating effectively, both orally and in writing.
