About the Role
SailPoint is seeking an experienced, motivational, and results-driven Engineering Manager to lead a team of high-performing software engineers responsible for the technical development, architecture, and reliability of core SailPoint products. In this role, you will lead all aspects of software design, code quality, and delivery while fostering a culture of operational excellence and continuous improvement. You will partner closely with Product Management and architecture leads to translate product vision into actionable engineering roadmaps, allocate resources effectively, mitigate risks, and coach engineers to help them reach their full professional potential.

About the Team
You will be joining an innovative, collaborative engineering organization on a team that builds and scales enterprise-grade products on a mature, cloud-native, event-driven microservices architecture hosted in AWS. We solve complex distributed systems challenges and tackle tough technical problems where professional engineering rigor meets direct business impact.

Roadmap for Success:

• 30 Days: Complete SailPoint onboarding, gain a comprehensive understanding of our cloud architecture, tools, and Agile delivery processes, meet with your direct reports and key stakeholders, and understand current in-flight commitments.
• 60 Days: Take over day-to-day leadership of sprint ceremonies and team execution, establish regular 1:1s and career development frameworks with your engineers, and partner with Product Management to review upcoming quarterly deliverables.
• 90 Days: Fully own sprint planning, resource allocation, risk mitigation, and delivery metrics for your team; drive architectural reviews and code quality initiatives; and begin identifying process optimizations across the team.
• 6 Months: Consistently deliver high-impact roadmap milestones on time and with high quality, mentor engineers toward promotion readiness, actively contribute to cross-functional engineering initiatives, and streamline team workflows.
• 1 Year: Drive strategic technical vision and operational maturity for the team, champion innovation in AI-assisted development and engineering practices, and sustain high team engagement, retention, and performance.

Requirements

• Bachelors degree in related field, or equivalent professional experience
• 8+ years of professional experience in software engineering with a strong track record of designing, building, and operating cloud-scale systems
• 3+ years of experience building, leading, and managing high-performing software engineering teams
• Strong technical background in modern software development (e.g., .Net distributed systems, event-driven microservices architecture, and AWS)
• Knowledge of front end frameworks such as Angular
• Proven track record of successful execution and delivery in an Agile/Scrum development environment
• Demonstrated success in coaching, mentoring, and developing technical talent
• Exceptional organizational, project planning, risk management, and cross-functional communication skills
• Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive, adaptable mindset

AI-assisted engineering:

Our engineers are expected to use AI development tools as a core part of their daily workflow, not as a novelty. We expect you to use these tools to accelerate delivery, expand your scope, and raise the quality bar, while applying strong engineering judgment to review, validate, and own everything that ships under your name. Comfort with prompting, agentic workflows, and human-in-the-loop review of AI-generated code is a baseline expectation for this role.

AI related Technology:

• Cursor, Claude Code
• Python-based AI/ML frameworks and libraries such as scikit-learn, pandas, and numpy
• Deep Learning Frameworks such as PyTorch
• LLMs and Foundation Models in Bedrock, VertexAI, or similar

Benefits and Compensation listed vary based on the location of your employment and the nature of your employment with SailPoint.

As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the SailPoint Corporate Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission, along with potential eligibility for equity participation. SailPoint maintains broad salary ranges for its roles to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect SailPoint’s differing products, industries, and lines of business. Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity. We estimate the base salary, for US-based employees, will be in this range from (min-max, USD):

$140,500 - $236,826.00

Base salaries for employees based in other locations are competitive for the employee’s home location.
