Maintenance Utility /Facility

Job Details: Job Location: Deshler NE Facility Corporate Headquarters - Deshler, NE, Salary Range: Undisclosed, General Purpose of Position

The purpose of the Maintenance Utility/Facility position is to perform maintenance and repair on the building(s) and grounds.  They will assist other skilled maintenance employees on general installation, maintenance and repair. They may also perform ordinary carpentry, plumbing, concrete work and masonry, painting, and building repair.

Additionally, some mechanical, hydraulic, inspection and general maintenance work on vehicles and trailers may be required.

Will drive graders, front end loaders, mowers, dump trucks, boom truck and farm tractors for material movement, building repair, mowing and snow removal purposes.

Essential Functions 

Must have a good mechanical background and aptitude.
Must be able to demonstrate a general knowledge and understanding of building repair and maintenance.  Knowledge of plumbing, masonry, concrete work, painting, carpentry and basic building repair is required.
Must have a good mechanical background and aptitude.  Some mechanical, hydraulic and general repair work will be done on vehicles and trailers.
Must be able to use hand and power tools correctly.
Must be able to run a forklift, grader, boom truck and farm tractor.  Must be able to secure forklift license if required.
Must be familiar and cognizant of safety guidelines throughout the company.
Must maintain a good attendance and punctuality record.
Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and schematics; technical and service bulletins; product specifications; and other standard operating procedures.
Must be able to use and understand various measuring tools and equipment unique to the job, i.e. laser level, tape measures, voltmeters, table saw, chop saw, cutting torch, etc.
Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills, as they will interact with other departments, professional staff and management of the company.
Must be able to work with limited supervision and show/demonstrate initiative, analytical effort, tact, good judgement and sound reasoning.
Must be able to handle the physical requirements of the position.
Must have neat and legible handwriting.
Must have a valid driver’s license.
Will perform other related duties as directed by supervision.

Requires a good mechanical aptitude and a general knowledge of  building maintenance.

Machines, Tools, Equipment and Personal Protective Equipment Used

Requires use of all ordinary hand tools and power tools/equipment i.e. table saw, chop saw, cutting torch, chain saw, etc..  Will require the use of other measuring tools, i.e. tape measures, and laser level.  Requires the use of safety eyewear with side shields, face shield, safety footwear, fall protection, hearing protection and other safety gear as required.
