Maintenance Technician I

JOB SUMMARY:

Maintains all greenery and landscaping throughout the property including all maintenance of planters and water systems.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:

· Must have high school diploma or GED.

· Must possess a valid Louisiana driver’s license.

· Must be able to get along well with co-workers and work as a team player.

· Must possess excellent customer service skill.

· Must be able to work any day, any shift.

· Must have at least two years previous experience in landscaping or gardening with appropriate certification.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

· Maintain health, vitality and appearance of all shrubs, trees and ornamental plants.

· Maintain and repair all sprinklers and waterlines associated with above areas.

· Groom all flower beds and exposes soil on a daily basis.

· Assist laborers, when needed, with large jobs.

· Must meet the attendance guidelines of the job and adhere to departmental and company policies.

DEMANDS TO COMPLETE ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

PHYSICAL & MENTAL:

· Must be able of hearing in the full audible range in high noise conditions and possess average vision and color perception.

· Must be able to stoop, bend, jump, and carry heavy loads, run level surfaces as well as up or down stairs.

· Must be able to lift at leas 50 pounds.

· Must possess coordination and dexterity to drive power sweeper, forklifts, scissors lifts and other equipment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

· Must be able to work in extremes of temperature in excess of 115 degrees or below 10 degrees.

· Must be able to think clearly and respond calmly in emergency situations.

· Must be able to learn and retain locations, operation and repair procedures of the property’s equipment.
