Part-Time Maintenance Technician

ParkFit Athletic Club | Spokane, WA

ParkFit Athletic Club is looking for a dependable, hands-on Part-Time Maintenance Technician to help maintain our athletic club facilities and ensure they remain safe, clean, functional, and welcoming for our members.

This is a great position for someone who has maintenance knowledge and experience, takes pride in their work, and can independently identify and solve everyday facility issues.

Position Overview

The Maintenance Technician will perform routine maintenance, minor repairs, preventative maintenance, and general facility upkeep. This individual will work closely with ParkFit management to address maintenance needs efficiently while helping us stay ahead of problems before they become larger or more expensive repairs.

The position will support ParkFit's facilities as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections of the facility and identify maintenance or safety concerns.
• Complete general repairs including basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall, painting, and hardware repairs.
• Troubleshoot and repair doors, locks, fixtures, faucets, toilets, lighting, and other building components.
• Assist with preventative maintenance of fitness equipment and facility systems.
• Perform minor repairs to exercise and athletic equipment when appropriate.
• Help maintain locker rooms, bathrooms, courts, fitness areas, mechanical spaces, and common areas.
• Replace light bulbs, filters, hardware, and other routine maintenance items.
• Assist with seasonal maintenance, including exterior facility and grounds-related projects.
• Coordinate with outside vendors and contractors when repairs require specialized expertise.
• Maintain an organized inventory of commonly used maintenance tools, parts, and supplies.
• Respond to urgent maintenance issues when available.
• Document completed work and communicate outstanding maintenance needs to management.
• Follow all ParkFit safety procedures and immediately report hazards or unsafe conditions.
• Assist with special projects, facility improvements, equipment moves, and other maintenance-related needs as assigned.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is:

• Dependable, trustworthy, and self-motivated.
• Comfortable working independently with limited supervision.
• Mechanically inclined with strong general maintenance and troubleshooting skills.
• Able to recognize a problem and take initiative to find a solution.
• Experienced with basic hand and power tools.
• Able to safely lift and move approximately 50 pounds.
• Comfortable working on ladders and performing physically active work.
• Organized and able to communicate clearly with management and staff.
• Willing to work around members while maintaining a professional and friendly attitude.

Previous experience in building maintenance, property maintenance, construction, handyman work, fitness facilities, or a related field is preferred but not required for the right candidate.

Schedule

This is a part-time position with scheduling based on facility needs. Some flexibility is preferred for occasional urgent repairs or projects outside of normal scheduled hours.

Maintenance Technician Requirements and Qualifications:

• Completion of an apprenticeship under a professional maintenance technician preferred
• Strong critical thinking and creative skills
• Detail oriented
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Ability to manage time and responsibilities independently
