As a Maintenance staff person, you will play a vital role in maintaining our facilities to ensure a safe, clean, and welcoming environment. Your responsibilities will include maintenance, housekeeping, landscaping, and grounds upkeep. Previous maintenance or environmental services experience is preferred, but we’re looking for someone eager to learn, grow, and contribute to our mission. The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude and a strong desire to support all departments in providing the ultimate member experience.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Model YMCA core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility through your actions and maintain a welcoming atmosphere. 
Develop a keen eye for detail, ensuring the highest standards of maintenance and cleanliness. 
Respond promptly to work orders and requests to ensure timely resolution of maintenance issues.  
Monitor and contribute to pool maintenance; checking chemicals and pump room functions. 
Interior maintenance projects as assigned; signage install, painting, ceiling tile replacement, etc. 
Interior housekeeping; dusting and wet mopping gym floors, glass cleaning. 
Exterior grounds monitoring; emptying field trash, securing signage, maintaining a clean space for members. 
Work alongside branch sports director for field marking. May assist sports directors in other duties. 
Engage in safe work practices, including handling heights, electricity, plumbing, pumps, chemicals, and complete required safety training. 
Assist with event set ups and takedowns, ensuring facilities are prepared for special events and programs.  
Communicate the importance of the Y’s commitment to child protection and enforce all YMCA policies. 

Qualifications: QUALIFICATIONS: 

Hands-on problem-solving skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment. 
Positive, can-do attitude with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively. 
Goal-oriented, open-minded, and eager to learn and ask questions. 
Ability to multitask and stay calm and rational in emergency situations, using sound judgment. 
Strong communication skills with the ability to build positive relationships with members, guests, and co-workers. 
Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends for special events. 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 

Ability to walk and move continuously throughout your shift. 
Comfortable working at heights at or above 12 feet. 
Able to lift and carry tools, ladders, and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds. 
Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
