Get to Know Your Team:
- Hackensack Meridian Pascack Valley Medical Center is a 128-bed, full-service, acute-care community hospital with a new emergency department, a state-of-the-art maternity center, a women's imaging center, and an ICU.
Responsibilities
- The General Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible for repairing, replacing, or otherwise improving items of the Hospital Facilities or equipment. Perform semi-skilled work in several crafts.
- Perform semi-skilled tasks. (Examples) Repairing drywall, painting, repairing doors or other building fixtures, plumbing and electrical, and basic carpentry skills are required.
- Adjust and make repairs, “on location” to equipment and physical plant.
- Construct or reconstruct equipment and the physical plant.
- Perform a variety of small construction tasks as directed.
- Install such new equipment as directed.
- Responsible for snow removal during and after hours.
- Repair machines, equipment, or structures as necessary.
- Inspect and identify equipment or machines in need of repair.
- Perform other duties of the department, as assigned.
Qualifications
Job Requirements:
- A high school diploma or GED.
- 3 years in maintenance, various types of equipment, and physical plant.
- 2 years of construction experience in basic carpentry and drywall.
- Black Label High Pressure Boiler's License
Preferred Job Requirements:
- Hospital setting experience.
Rate of pay is determined based on experience and education, and may include other pay components such as differentials and call pay based on role.
