Summary
The maintenance mechanic is responsible for repairing and maintaining facility fixtures, furniture, appliances, and mechanical equipment. They also perform routine tasks in plumbing, electricity, and carpentry while managing parts inventory.
Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Repairing and maintaining fixtures, furniture, appliances, machinery, and mechanical equipment in accordance with manufacturers' specifications.
- Performs some tasks in plumbing, electricity, and carpentry
- Installs new equipment, as directed.
- Performs routine

- Keeps management informed of activities, needs, and problems within the
- Participates in Care Facility and Department seminars and safety
Shift Times:
- Rotating Shifts (10% Differential for Evening and Night Shift)
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year experience as Mechanic in a related field
- General mechanics knowledge in carpentry, masonry, plumbing, electrical repair, refrigeration and HVAC required.
- FDNY Certificate of Fitness
Education:
- Vocational School training with courses in Blueprint reading
- High School Diploma/GED required
