Longo Lexus Courtesy Vehicle Valet

Overview

We are looking for a self-motivated individual to become our new Courtesy Vehicle Valet for Longo Lexus. The Courtesy Vehicle Valet is responsible for making sure that all loan vehicles are properly and thoroughly cleaned, gassed, and assist the Loan Car Representatives with vehicle hand-offs to the guests. 

The Courtesy Vehicle Valet has a Pay Scale consisting of the following elements and ranges. Wages include Base Hourly Rate of $18.00.

This position is 100% on site at Longo Lexus in El Monte, CA.

Responsibilities

• Installs license plates on new LCCS units, makes copies of the registration and places it in the glove compartment along with a copy of the insurance card – Original registrations are kept in the loan car office
• Removes stickers from new LCCS units and removes the plastic covers from the seats
• Takes the mats from the trunk and places them inside the LCCS unit
• Places the decals on the back bumper and the loan car number on the front and back windshield
• Looks for a bag in the sales dept. that has the book and the key of the new LCCS unit, opens the glove compartment and take out the spare key to store book/spare key in the storage room by the tool room
• Washes all new/returned loan car vehicles thru the car wash and dries them by hand
• Uses the vacuum to clean the inside of each loan car. Looks under the seats, looks at the side door pockets front/back, looks inside the middle console, and in the glove compartment for any trash and clean/wipe those areas. Checks the trunk as well
• Ensures that every washed loan car has half a tank of gas
• Ensures all returned loan car vehicles are washed and ready for the next morning – At least 30 vehicles should be ready, 18 vehicles parked in the front and 19 loan cars parked by the tent
• Inspects each vehicle before washing it for lot damage and notifies Loan Car representative and Security
• Notifies the Loan Car Representative if the loan car requires maintenance or detail
• May help the service valet with checking in the returned loan cars if the loan car valet is available – Check any external vehicle damage (scratches, dents) and vehicle information on check-in sheet and submits to designated personnel.
• May help the Loan Car Representative with walk around if the loan car valet is available
• Assists in all other areas of the service department, as needed.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of six (6) months customer service experience, desired
• Ability to coordinate activities with other employees; read and comprehend instructions and information in the English language; work well with the public.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and have and maintain an acceptable, safe driving record.

• Frequently bend, stretch, twist, or reach with their body, arms, and/or legs; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear.
• Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions including low and high temperatures, precipitation and wind, noisy environments, and small and/or enclosed spaces.
• Adjusting, moving, and lifting objects up to 50 pounds.
• Moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces.
• Remaining in a stationary position, often standing, or sitting for prolonged periods.
• Operating motor vehicles and/or heavy equipment.
• Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, and poles.
