Job Summary
As a Seasonal Logistics Team Member, you will embody Thistle Farms core values of radical hospitality and quality matters as you carefully, efficiently and accurately pick, pack and deliver Thistle Farms hand-made products and Shared Trade items. When a customer and supporter opens a delivery from Thistle Farms, your effort and contribution will be the first impression of our Organization and our mission.

This is a part-time, seasonal position. There might be occasions where there would be an opportunity to work extra hours during the week. Those opportunities would be determined by the volume of orders at that time. The hours would not exceed 30 per week. There will be no benefits provided (e.g. health insurance, PTO, or 401k) for this position.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Pick, pack and prepare customer orders for shipment. 

Verify items against customer order to ensure accuracy. 

Ensure requested delivery method is selected, labels are printed and packaging is appropriate. 

Exhibit problem-solving to determine how to best package and ship items. 

Package products securely to prevent damage during transit. 

Ensure your proper box and filler are used depending on item(s) and weight. 

Follow best practices as communicated verbally as well as in documented SOPs. 

Effectively use inventory management software and hardware. 

Work with the Logistics Manager to elevate shipping issues and work, collectively, on timely resolutions. 

Report damaged goods, shortages or discrepancies to the supervisor.

Qualifications: Required Skills/Qualifications: 

Strong written and verbal communication skills 

High attention to detail and accuracy 

Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment 

Strong organizational and time-management skills 

Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, including SOPs and safety guidelines 

Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn inventory management software and shipping systems 

Problem-solving skills, including the ability to troubleshoot packing, shipping, and order discrepancies 

Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively as part of a team 

Flexibility and willingness to learn new tasks and support cross-functional work as needed 

Commitment to quality control and customer experience 

Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and accountability

Physical Requirements: 

Ability to bend, stand, crouch, and reach arms above head 

Ability to stand for at least 3 hours at a time 

Ability to work up to 8 hours in a shift 

Ability to regularly lift and carry up to 40 lbs. 

Ability to push or pull carts, pallets, or packed boxes as needed
