Brief Role Description

• The Logistics Manager is a key leadership role in the Electrify America’s Supply Chain Department .  The individual has overall responsibility for optimizing transportation & warehousing for all capital equipment (chargers, power cabinets, switchboards, switch gear, construction materials) and DCFC network service parts.
• Leads team in achieving efficient logistics operations of the national DC fast charging network as well as direct to consumer Electrify Home chargers including fulfillment & reverse logistics (warranty returns & service).
• The Logistics Manager develops annual operating budgets and establishes strategic objectives and goals for the logistics department objectives.
• Logistics activities also include management of three large scale 3rd party Logistics Providers (3Pls) including shipment planning, execution, and warehousing activities
• Essentially, the Logistics Manager’s role to assure that the right equipment & parts and arrive at the right time and place at the best cost to assure the success of Electrify America’s business objectives, for both system expansion as well as system operations and maintenance.
• Overall execution of responsibilities of the team including personnel goal setting and individual development plans.
• The position reports to the Sr Manager of Supply Chain within the overall Operations organization
• The logistics manager leads in the selection, implementation, operation and maintenance of a warehousing strategy in both the United States and Canada to support service parts and equipment distribution to the field. 
• All shipping and service SLAs are to be met with 95% or greater compliance and a corrective action program is to be implemented as required to address shortfalls. 
• Candidate will work closely with other internal personnel including the Field Services Manager and the Network Operation Center (NOC) to ensure the service parts program is optimized to support the needs of the field service operations to achieve optimized equipment uptimes and customer satisfaction. 
• The Logistics Manager is accountable for all company-wide Logistics contracts and supplier performance through amendments, business reviews, supplier site assessments, and supplier performance management best practices in Logistics services.  

Possible Tasks within this Role

Main responsibility

• Lead & develop team of 4 direct employees and 20+ indirect logistics professionals in the daily planning & execution of company-wide logistics operations including 10 warehouse locations across USA and Canada in support of DC Fast Charger network expansion, operation, and repair activities. Scope includes reverse logistics (RMA) of failed parts to the manufacturers  and establishment of Forward Stocking Locations (45%). Includes the following)
  • Full supply chain analysis / reporting to the highest executive levels on cost and Logistics performance KPIs including inventory
  • Trend analysis and transportation market tracking in order to identify corporate, industry and regional issues that require a cross-functional strategy to counter
  • Working with all stakeholders, develop common supply chain technology solution that will deliver full supply chain transparency and efficiency
• Identify, develop and implement strategic initiatives to achieve best value / lowest total cost of ownership TCO) for company-wide Logistics spend to achieve annual savings targets (20%)
• Direct operations of strategic 3PL partners in execution of logistics services assuring contract compliance and high levels of supplier performance. Design and execute Quarterly Business Reviews with all strategic suppliers in assuring KPI performance targets are met. Assure performance penalties are assessed and monetized as applicable with the supply base. (10%)
• Lead cross functional Inventory Review Committee (IRC) consisting of senior and executive leaders in the decision making and overall management of company inventory (currently valued at $48 million). Drive multi-million dollar inventory reductions year over year. (5%)
• Lead Logistics quoting /budgeting to support internal customers in commercial proposals as well as Consent Decree projects facilitating quotes, providing lead times, confirming delivery schedules, logistics, and RMA of failed equipment. (5%)
• Lead/support inventories to ensure full equipment traceability through cycle counts, receiving processes, and other best practices to ensure 100% annual audit compliance. (5%)

Additional responsibilities

• Support invoice receiving and payment processes for capital goods, parts, and services. (5%)
• Develops and prepares quarterly forecasts and budgets for supply chain expenses including capital goods, service parts, shipping, and warehouse services (5%)

Qualification requirements

Years of Relevant Experience:

• 10 years of experience in Supply Chain, Logistics, or related area

Education - Required

• Bachelors Degree

• Expertise in global and domestic shipping (all modes- ocean, rail, truck, LTL, parcel) as well as import & export experience
• Experience with budgeting and financial modeling methods & business case creation/presentation
• Proven experience with financial and inventory audits, accounting, and reporting
• Experience managing and negotiating contracts
• Experience in effectively managing vendors and subcontractors
• Understanding of project management techniques and methods

Specialized Skills - Desired:

• Experience implementing and managing a third party logistics providers (3PL)
• Experience with SAP
• ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 knowledge

Work Flexibility:

• Occasional business travel (1 to 2 x /month) to warehouses, suppliers, and corporate office

Base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is established within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay for this position will fall within the pay range listed below and is determined based on job-related factors including, but not limited to, skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. Base salary is localized according to an employee’s work location. Ranges are market-dependent and may be modified in the future.

The national pay range for this position in most locations is $92,500 - $166,500. There are some locations with a higher range, including the San Francisco Bay Area and New York City, where the range is $132,400 - $238,200. (Note: Full Range)
