Overview

Position Summary

The Logistics Agent is the point of contact to receive, store, maintain inventory on and arrange for domestic and/or international transport of a client’s commodity from a warehouse to the client’s specified destination.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintains inventory of a client’s commodity in the warehouse.
• Resolves discrepancies between items received, stored and shipped.
• Makes necessary trucking arrangements for shipping client’s merchandise.
• Calculates handling, receiving and shipping charges as well as billing for the customer.
• Prepares and processes shipping documents (bills of lading, shipper’s instructions, and certificates of origin).
• Provides excellent customer service and meet client’s requirements.
• Manages the customs process with our customs broker and ensures that our freight delivers on time to our customers.
• May use a forklift.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma and or GED plus 1-2 years of related logistics experience.

• An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

• Bi-Lingual Spanish preferred but not required.
• Must possess excellent customer service skills with the ability to grasp extensive knowledge while dealing with a variety of people.
• Must have strong organizational and time management skills.
• Must have the ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret verbal and written requests and directions.
• Must have working knowledge of Windows operating system and be proficient in Microsoft software applications (i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Keen ability to assess situations, perform root cause analysis, and provide solutions. Ability to think things through and develop processes that contribute to enhanced organizational efficiency.
