Job Description

The Enterprise Special Services team is rapidly growing and seeking a highly skilled and motivated Account Specialist to enhance the shipper experience for vendors and sellers using inbound transportation services. In this role, you work directly with shippers to analyze performance, identify defects, and implement solutions that improve transportation reliability and overall shipper performance metrics. You play a key role in monitoring data, coaching shippers, and driving continuous improvement across the logistics and supply chain network.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, verify, and present transportation and shipper performance data on a daily basis.
• Overcome transportation disruptions and other barriers in real time by coordinating with shippers and relevant stakeholders.
• Identify root causes of transportation defects and develop actionable solutions to prevent recurrence.
• Maintain detailed daily logs and documentation for assigned shippers, including performance metrics and issue tracking.
• Lead weekly calls with assigned shippers to review performance, discuss issues, and align on improvement plans.
• Lead Daily Business Review stand-up calls to share updates, highlight risks, and ensure alignment on operational priorities.
• Collaborate with shippers to improve shipper performance metrics through coaching, guidance, and process optimization.
• Write clear documents and proposals on topics such as process improvements and corrective action plans.
• Use basic data analytical skills to interpret Excel spreadsheets and other data sources to support decision-making.
• Build strong, professional relationships with shippers and internal partners to ensure high levels of customer service and satisfaction.

Essential Skills

• Account management and customer service experience with a focus on relationship building and ongoing support.
• At least 2 years of experience in logistics, supply chain, or closely related operations roles preferred.
• Understanding of basic data analytical skills, including the ability to interpret operational and performance data.
• Entry-level knowledge of Microsoft Excel, with familiarity using spreadsheets and navigating data.
• Strong problem-solving skills, particularly in transportation, intermodal operations, and supply chain environments.
• Ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal forms with shippers and internal teams.
• Solid organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple shippers, logs, calls, and priorities simultaneously.
• Interpersonal skills that support effective customer service, coaching, and collaboration.
• Experience writing documents on topics such as process improvement proposals and operational recommendations.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in supply chain or logistics is beneficial, though candidates from other fast-paced, customer-facing industries are also valued.
• Experience managing disruptions as they occur and working through lowest-cost solutions while maintaining service quality.
• Exposure to transportation, intermodal operations, and broader supply chain processes.
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills that enable you to hit the ground running with minimal ramp-up time.
• Experience in roles such as event coordination, party planning, real estate, sales, or restaurant operations where multitasking and customer interaction are central.
• Ability to work with top-tier customers and maintain a professional, solutions-oriented approach.
• Comfort presenting data and performance insights to both internal stakeholders and external partners.

Work Environment

You work in a collaborative team environment that is fully remote, allowing you to perform your responsibilities from any suitable location. The role is highly interactive, involving frequent virtual calls, daily stand-up meetings, and ongoing communication with shippers and internal colleagues. You rely on standard office technology, including computers, communication tools, and Microsoft Excel, to analyze data and document performance. The environment emphasizes continuous learning, strong support and training for technical skills, and a culture focused on problem-solving, customer service, and operational excellence.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tempe, AZ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
