Locum - Physician Assistant (PA) - Surgery

**Dates of Coverage:** 40 hours per week, commencing mid-December 2026 through at least April 2027  

**Schedule:** Monday to Friday, 0800 to 1700 hours  

**Patient Demographics:** Adult and geriatric populations  

**Care Setting:** 100% Inpatient care  

**Average Patient Load:** Variable, dependent on hospital admissions  

**Core Responsibilities:**  
- Provide post-procedural daily care  

- Facilitate patient and family communication and education  

- Collaborate closely with one employed neurosurgery Nurse Practitioner  

**Documentation/EMR:** EPIC  

**Average On-Call Hours:** 8 hours  

**Number of Providers Required:** 1  

**Practice Environment:** Inpatient/Hospital-Based  

**Teaching Responsibility:** None  

**Mandatory Qualifications:**  
- Board certified (REQUIRED)  

- Valid Virginia medical license (No exceptions for providers needing licensure) (REQUIRED)  

- Active ACLS and BLS certifications (REQUIRED)  

- Active DEA registration (REQUIRED)  

- Clean background with no malpractice or license-related issues (No exceptions) (REQUIRED)

- License to practice in Virginia
