Summary
The Nurse Practitioner will provide daily post-procedural patient care and education in an inpatient setting. They will also collaborate with the facility's neurosurgery team to ensure effective patient communication and care delivery.
Job Description
**Dates of Coverage:** 40 hours per week starting mid-December 2026 through at least April 2027
**Schedule:** Monday to Friday, 0800 - 1700 hours
**Average Call Back Hours:** 8 hours
**Practice Settings:** Inpatient/Hospital-Based
**Patient Population:** Adult and Geriatric
**Outpatient vs. Inpatient Care:** 100% Inpatient
**Typical Patient Load:** Variable depending on hospital dynamics
**Required Responsibilities and Skills:**
- Post-procedural daily patient care
- Patient and family communication and education
- Collaboration with a neurosurgery NP employed at the facility
**Documentation/EMR System:** EPIC
**Shift Description:**
- Monday to Friday, 0800 - 1700 hours
**Mandatory Job Requirements:**
- Board Certification: Required
- Active Virginia medical license: Required (no licensure delays permitted)
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications: Required
- Active DEA registration: Required
- Clean professional background: No malpractice or license issues permissible
**Licensure Requirements:**
- Must possess a valid Virginia license
