This on-site contract position offers an exceptional opportunity to work within a dynamic medical practice that prioritizes patient care and advanced surgical techniques.
As a Locum NP/PA, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality healthcare to patients undergoing neurosurgical procedures. You'll collaborate with a team of experienced professionals, contributing to the enhancement of patient outcomes through effective care strategies and patient management. Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and evaluations
- Assist in neurosurgical procedures under the supervision of attending surgeons
- Develop and implement individualized patient care plans
- Manage post-operative care and patient recovery
- Collaborate with medical staff to ensure continuity of care
- Provide education and support to patients and their families
- Maintain accurate and timely medical records
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives within the department
Requirements
- Current NP or PA licensure in the state of practice
- Experience in a clinical setting, preferably in neurosurgery or a related field
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team
- Commitment to high-quality patient care and safety
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred
- Must be able to adapt to a fast-paced working environment
Schedule: Monday-Sunday, 7p-7a, 7 on/7 off
No call shifts
Setting: Inpatient, multiple possible locations
Patient Volume: 20-30 per day or 8-15 per day
Patient Population: Trauma (spine and cranial), elective spine, elective cranial
Skills Needed: Drain removal, shunt adjustment, trauma/practice call
Team: 8 MDs, 9 APPs
EMR: Epic
Board-certification required
