Locum - Medical Physicist - Radiation Oncology

Credentialing for the position is expected to commence immediately upon provider approval, typically taking around 30 days for NRC/State RAM licensing.

**Setting**: Outpatient context, encompassing multiple facilities.  

**Operational Schedule**: Hourly engagement on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. 

 
**Patient Demographics**: Diverse patient population primarily consisting of outpatients, with occasional inpatient cases referred from the hospital for simulation and treatment to manage symptoms.  

**Patient Volume**: The average patient load is approximately 60-70 across three locations daily.  

**Core Responsibilities**: Responsibilities include chart evaluations (initial and weekly), machine quality assurance (QA), high-dose rate (HDR) treatment planning and administration, as well as supervision of stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT) treatments.  

**Documentation**: Utilization of Aria as the electronic medical record (EMR) system. 

 
**Provider Requirement**: Local providers only; reimbursement is strictly for mileage incurred.

**Mandatory Qualifications**:

- **Board Certification**: Must be board certified by either the ABR or ABMP (mandatory).

- **Local Residency**: Only local providers will be considered; reimbursement limited to mileage (mandatory)

- **Licensure**: An active Michigan medical license is required (mandatory).

- **Experience**: Minimum of three years of relevant experience is required, with five years preferred (mandatory).

- **Background Check**: Providers must have a clean record with no malpractice claims or licensing issues (mandatory).
