Locum MD (Medical Doctor) Neurology

 This Associate-level, contract, on-site role offers physicians a meaningful opportunity to deliver specialized neurological care within a respected medical practice environment.

As a Locum Neurology Medical Doctor, you will be involved in diagnosing and managing a broad spectrum of neurological conditions, collaborating with multidisciplinary healthcare professionals, and ensuring continuity of care for patients. Your clinical expertise will directly support high-quality patient outcomes and help the practice meet evolving community health needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive neurological consultations and evaluations for patients
• Diagnose and manage acute and chronic neurological conditions, including epilepsy, stroke, migraine, neuropathy, and movement disorders
• Order, interpret, and follow up on diagnostic tests such as EEG, EMG, MRI, and CT scans
• Develop individualized treatment plans based on evidence-based medicine and patient-specific needs
• Collaborate with primary care physicians, nurses, and other specialists to coordinate integrated patient care
• Maintain accurate, timely, and thorough documentation in electronic medical records (EMR)
• Educate patients and families regarding neurological diagnoses, treatment options, medications, and preventative care strategies
• Participate in urgent neurological consultations and clinical coverage as needed by the practice
• Adhere to medical practice standards, healthcare regulations, and patient safety protocols
• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives related to neurology services and patient outcomes

Requirements

• Medical Doctor (MD) degree from an accredited medical school
• Board certification or board eligibility in Neurology
• Active and unrestricted medical license in Texas, or the ability to obtain licensure prior to starting
• Associate-level clinical experience in neurology or relevant residency training
• Strong knowledge of neurological diagnostic procedures, treatment modalities, and pharmacology
• Excellent clinical judgment, critical thinking, and decision-making skills
• Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and medical documentation
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with patients, families, and healthcare teams
• Ability to work independently and efficiently in an on-site, fast-paced clinical environment
• Commitment to providing compassionate, high-quality, patient-centered neurological care

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8a-5p

No call required

Setting: Outpatient

Caseload: Bread-and-butter neuroimmunology/MS

Support Staff: MAs, RNs

EMR: Epic

Must be board-certified

CSR, DEA, and ACLS required
