As a Locum MD in Hematology Oncology, you will play a crucial role in diagnosing and treating patients with blood disorders and cancers. Your expertise will contribute to advancing treatment protocols and enhancing patient outcomes in our healthcare facility. We foster a collaborative environment that emphasizes patient-centered care, and this role is pivotal in ensuring we meet the highest standards of medical excellence.
Responsibilities
- Conduct patient examinations and assessments to diagnose hematological and oncological conditions
- Develop and manage individualized treatment plans for patients
- Perform therapeutic procedures as needed
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation
- Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding diagnoses and treatment options
- Stay updated on the latest research and advancements in hematology oncology
- Participate in continuing education and professional development activities
Requirements
- MD degree from an accredited medical school
- Completion of residency in Internal Medicine and fellowship training in Hematology Oncology
- Valid medical license to practice in the state of Petersburg
- Strong knowledge of hematological disorders and cancer treatment protocols
- Excellent diagnostic and clinical skills
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment
- Professional demeanor and commitment to patient care
Schedule: 8-hour day shifts
No call required
Setting: Primarily outpatient, some inpatient available
Daily Volume: 15-18 patients
Patient Population: Adults only
Case Types: 60% medical oncology and 40% hematology oncology
EMR: Epic
Must be board-certified
DEA required
Paid travel & expenses
