Locum MD (Medical Doctor), DO (Osteopathic Doctor) Urology

Description

 This contract, on-site position offers an excellent opportunity for an Associate-level physician to provide high-quality urological care within the Medical Practice industry.

As a Locum Urology physician, you will be responsible for diagnosing and treating patients with urological conditions, performing procedures, and collaborating with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care. You will play a key role in maintaining continuity of care during staffing gaps, bringing your expertise to a supportive and patient-centered practice environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive urological consultations, evaluations, and diagnoses for patients
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs
• Perform urological procedures and surgeries in accordance with best practices
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including lab work and imaging studies
• Prescribe medications and manage ongoing patient care
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and support staff to coordinate patient care
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical documentation and patient records
• Educate patients and their families on treatment options, procedures, and preventive care
• Ensure compliance with all medical regulations, safety standards, and practice protocols
• Provide locum coverage as scheduled, ensuring seamless patient care during provider absences

Requirements

• Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution
• Board certification or eligibility in Urology
• Valid unrestricted medical license to practice in the state of New York
• Associate-level experience in urology or a related medical field
• Proficiency in diagnosing and managing a wide range of urological conditions
• Strong surgical skills and experience with urological procedures
• Excellent patient communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a healthcare team
• Commitment to maintaining high standards of patient care and safety
• Willingness to adhere to facility protocols and comply with all regulatory requirements

Level II Trauma

Schedule: 24-hour call, 7a-7a

Robotics skillset is a plus

EMR: Cerner

Must be board-certified or board-eligible
