Locum MD (Medical Doctor), DO (Osteopathic Doctor) Radiology

This contract position offers an exceptional opportunity for an associate-level physician to provide high-quality diagnostic imaging services within a dynamic medical practice environment.

As a Locum Radiologist, you will be responsible for interpreting a variety of imaging studies, delivering accurate diagnoses, and collaborating closely with referring physicians to guide patient care. You will work on-site alongside our experienced clinical team, ensuring timely and precise radiological interpretations that directly impact treatment decisions and patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and report on diagnostic imaging studies, including X-ray, CT, MRI, ultrasound, and fluoroscopy.
• Provide accurate and timely radiological diagnoses to referring physicians and clinical staff.
• Consult with other medical professionals to ensure comprehensive patient management and care coordination.
• Adhere to established radiology safety standards, protocols, and regulatory requirements.
• Document findings and maintain detailed patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
• Collaborate with radiologic technologists and support personnel to optimize imaging quality and workflow.
• Participate in on-call coverage and urgent imaging needs as required by the department.
• Contribute to quality assurance programs and continuous improvement initiatives within the radiology department.
• Stay current with advancements in radiology, imaging technology, and best practices in diagnostic medicine.
• Uphold patient confidentiality and medical ethics in all interactions and documentation.

Requirements

• Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited medical school.
• Board certification or active board eligibility in Radiology.
• Active and unrestricted medical license in the state of practice, or eligibility to obtain licensure.
• Associate-level experience in diagnostic radiology, with demonstrated proficiency in interpreting imaging studies.
• Strong clinical judgment and diagnostic accuracy in a fast-paced medical environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for clear, concise reporting and consultation.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team of physicians, technologists, and support staff.
• Commitment to patient safety, quality care, and adherence to medical protocols.
• Familiarity with PACS, EMR systems, and teleradiology tools commonly used in modern radiology practice.
• Current CPR/BLS certification, with ACLS preferred.

Level II Trauma

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8a-5p

No call requirement

175 beds

Required Procedures: Spine procedures, ports and central line placements, solid organ biopsies and drainages, oncology interventions and image-guided therapies, kyphoplasty, breast biopsies

Support Staff: PA, technologist, and nursing staff

EMR: Epic

Must be board-certified
