Locum MD (Medical Doctor), DO (Osteopathic Doctor) Orthopedic Surgery;Trauma Surgery

 This contract, on-site position within the Medical Practice industry offers a rewarding opportunity to deliver high-quality surgical care to patients in need.

As a Locum physician, you will play a critical role in providing continuity of care, performing surgical procedures, and managing trauma cases. You will work closely with our medical team to ensure the best outcomes for patients, while experiencing the flexibility and variety that locum tenens assignments offer.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive orthopedic and trauma surgical care to patients
• Perform surgical procedures including fracture repairs, joint replacements, and soft tissue repairs
• Assess patient conditions, review medical histories, and develop treatment plans
• Collaborate with nurses, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals
• Participate in on-call rotations for emergency trauma cases
• Monitor patient recovery and adjust treatment plans as needed
• Document patient care accurately and timely in medical records
• Educate patients and their families about surgical procedures and post-operative care
• Ensure compliance with medical standards and hospital protocols
• Provide coverage during scheduled shifts and as needed for the practice

Requirements

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree
• Board certification or eligibility in Orthopedic Surgery and/or Trauma Surgery
• Active medical license in the state of practice (or ability to obtain licensure)
• Associate-level experience in orthopedic and trauma surgery
• Proven proficiency in surgical techniques and trauma management
• Strong clinical judgment and decision-making skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Ability to thrive in a high-acuity, on-site clinical environment
• Dedication to providing compassionate, patient-centered care
• Flexibility to accommodate contract scheduling and on-call duties

Level II Trauma

Schedule: 24-hour call shifts, specific dates

Case Types: Bread-and-butter and complex orthopedic trauma

Duties: Scheduled procedures and rounding

Support Staff: PA

EMR: Epic

Must be board-certified
