Locum MD (Medical Doctor), DO (Osteopathic Doctor) Medical Oncology

This is a contract, on-site position offering an excellent opportunity for an Associate-level physician to provide high-quality patient care in a collaborative clinical environment. As a key member of the oncology team, you will play a vital role in diagnosing and treating patients with cancer and other related conditions.

In this role, you will work directly with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals within the Medical Practice industry. Your expertise in Medical Oncology will be instrumental in developing and implementing comprehensive treatment plans, managing patient care, and contributing to positive health outcomes for the community. The position requires a commitment to clinical excellence, patient advocacy, and evidence-based medicine.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and treat patients with various types of cancer and oncological conditions
• Develop and implement individualized, evidence-based treatment plans
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including imaging, biopsies, and laboratory studies
• Administer and manage chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and other targeted therapies
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including surgeons, radiologists, and pathologists
• Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as clinically indicated
• Provide patient education and counseling regarding diagnosis, treatment options, and side effect management
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in electronic medical records (EMR)
• Participate in tumor board meetings and clinical case reviews
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory, safety, and quality standards
• Provide compassionate, patient-centered care to individuals and their families
• Stay current with advancements in oncology research and treatment protocols

Requirements

• MD (Medical Doctor) or DO (Osteopathic Doctor) degree from an accredited institution
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Medical Oncology
• Associate-level experience in a clinical oncology setting
• Valid and unrestricted medical license to practice
• Active DEA registration
• Strong clinical skills in cancer diagnosis, staging, and treatment
• Experience with chemotherapy administration and management
• Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for patient and team interactions
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities in complex clinical scenarios
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative on-site clinical environment
• Commitment to continuous learning and adherence to evidence-based practices

Schedule: 8a-4:30p, 4 days per week

Shifts available at multiple clinics

Setting: Outpatient

Patient Census: 10-16 per day

Case Types: Primarily GI

Preferred Procedures: Bone marrow biopsies

Support Staff: APP, RN navigator, director, and clinic manager

EMR: Epic

Must be board-certified

CSR and DEA required
