. This is a contract, on-site position offering an excellent opportunity for an Associate-level physician to provide high-quality digestive health care within a collaborative clinical environment.

As a Locum Gastroenterology Physician, you will deliver comprehensive diagnostic and therapeutic care to patients with a wide range of gastrointestinal conditions. Working alongside a dedicated team of healthcare professionals in the Medical Practice industry, you will play a vital role in enhancing patient outcomes, maintaining continuity of care, and supporting the practice's commitment to clinical excellence.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with acute and chronic gastrointestinal conditions
• Perform endoscopic procedures including upper endoscopy and colonoscopy
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as lab work, imaging, and biopsies
• Develop and manage individualized treatment plans for digestive disorders
• Provide consultations for inpatient and outpatient gastrointestinal cases
• Collaborate with primary care physicians, surgeons, and allied health staff
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in electronic medical records
• Educate patients and families on disease management and preventive care
• Ensure compliance with clinical protocols, safety standards, and regulatory requirements
• Participate in case reviews and quality improvement initiatives
• Manage follow-up care and coordinate referrals when appropriate
• Stay current with advances in gastroenterology and evidence-based practices

Requirements

• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
• Board certification or eligibility in Gastroenterology
• Valid medical license to practice in North Carolina
• Associate-level experience in gastroenterology clinical practice
• Proficiency in performing endoscopic procedures
• Strong diagnostic and clinical decision-making skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team
• Commitment to patient-centered care and clinical excellence
• Familiarity with electronic medical record systems
• Willingness to work on-site in Winston-Salem
• Current DEA registration and BLS certification

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7a-4p, 3 weeks per month

No call required

Setting: Outpatient

Daily Volume: 15 patients

Caseload: General outpatient GI procedures

Support Staff: RN

EMR: Epic

Board certification required

ACLS and BLS required

Paid travel & expenses
