In this role, you will work alongside a dedicated team of healthcare professionals within a reputable medical practice, managing acute medical conditions, performing emergency procedures, and ensuring the highest standards of patient safety and satisfaction. Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive emergency medical care to patients presenting with acute illnesses, injuries, and trauma.
• Perform thorough patient assessments, including history taking, physical examinations, and diagnostic evaluations.
• Order, interpret, and follow up on laboratory tests, imaging studies, and other diagnostic procedures.
• Develop and implement effective treatment plans, including medication management and emergency interventions.
• Stabilize critically ill or injured patients and coordinate appropriate admissions or transfers as needed.
• Collaborate with nurses, specialists, and ancillary staff to ensure coordinated, high-quality patient care.
• Document patient encounters accurately and in a timely manner within the electronic health record (EHR) system.
• Communicate effectively with patients and their families regarding diagnoses, treatment options, and discharge instructions.
• Adhere to all medical protocols, safety standards, and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives to enhance emergency department performance.
• Provide coverage as scheduled, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required by the contract agreement.
• Maintain current knowledge of best practices and emerging developments in emergency medicine.

Requirements

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school.
• Board certification or active board eligibility in Emergency Medicine (ABEM or AOBEM).
• Valid and unrestricted medical license to practice in the state of Florida.
• Current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications.
• Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in emergency medicine or a comparable acute care setting.
• Strong clinical decision-making and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact compassionately with patients and families.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.
• Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and medical documentation.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, on a contract basis.
• ATLS certification is preferred but not required.
• DEA registration and ability to prescribe controlled substances in accordance with state regulations.

Schedule: 9-hour shifts

Shifts available at multiple facilities

Patient Volume: ~2-3 per hour

Patient Population: Primarily adults, 10-15% pediatrics

Support Staff: APPs

EMR: Epic

Must be board-certified
