Locum MD (Medical Doctor), DO (Osteopathic Doctor) Emergency Medicine

. This is a contract, on-site position offering an excellent opportunity for an Associate-level physician to provide high-quality, urgent care in a dynamic emergency department setting.

In this role, you will deliver immediate medical attention to patients presenting with a wide range of acute illnesses and injuries. You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team of nurses, specialists, and support staff to ensure the best possible patient outcomes. The position requires a commitment to clinical excellence and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced medical environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide immediate diagnosis and treatment for patients with acute injuries or illnesses
• Perform comprehensive medical histories and physical examinations
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as X-rays, blood work, and EKGs
• Stabilize patients in critical condition and manage emergency medical situations
• Prescribe appropriate medications and therapies
• Collaborate with consulting specialists and nursing staff regarding patient care plans
• Document all patient encounters accurately in electronic medical records
• Adhere to all hospital protocols and safety standards
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans and follow-up care
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives within the Emergency Department

Requirements

• Medical Degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine
• Valid medical license to practice in Washington State
• DEA license and BLS/ACLS certification
• Associate-level experience in an emergency or acute care setting
• Strong clinical decision-making and diagnostic skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Ability to remain calm and focused under pressure
• Proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems
• Commitment to providing compassionate patient care

Schedule: 7a-4p, 11a-8p, or 2p-11p

Daily Volume: 8-14 patients

Duties: Evaluation, treatment, and disposition of patients

Case Types: Mostly medical, low trauma, medium to high acuity

Support Staff: RNs

EMR: Epic

Must be board-certified 

Additional Required Certifications: ACLS, NRP, PALS, BLS and DEA
