As a Locum Critical Care physician, you will play a vital role in managing critically ill patients, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, and ensuring the highest standards of clinical excellence. Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive critical care management to patients in acute and intensive care settings.
• Perform thorough patient assessments, diagnose conditions, and develop individualized treatment plans.
• Collaborate with nurses, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care.
• Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests and procedures as clinically appropriate.
• Administer medications, therapies, and life-saving interventions in accordance with protocols.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and complete patient medical records and documentation.
• Communicate effectively with patients and their families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, and progress.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and safety.
• Adhere to medical standards, ethical guidelines, and regulatory requirements at all times.
• Work on-site as scheduled per contract terms and support continuity of care for critically ill patients.

Requirements

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution.
• Board certification or eligibility in Critical Care Medicine or a related subspecialty.
• Active medical license in the relevant jurisdiction, or the ability to obtain one prior to start.
• Associate-level experience in critical care, intensive care, or acute care environments.
• Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to engage with patients, families, and team members.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, on-site clinical setting.
• Willingness to commit to a contract-based schedule and adapt to changing clinical needs.
• Demonstrated commitment to patient-centered, evidence-based care.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

Schedule: 7a-5p, specific dates

Call Requirement: 5p-7a

Daily Volume: 8-14 patients in ICU

Required Procedures: Common critical care procedures including airway management, central lines, arterial lines, dialysis catheter, paracentesis, thoracentesis, bronchoscopy, chest tube insertion

Support Staff: MICU nurses, respiratory therapists, and other service lines

Must be board-certified

Additional Certifications: DEA and ACLS
